COVID-19 Information
March 8, 2020
Friends of NYSML,
We understand that there has been concern by some of our member leagues regarding the Novel Coronavirus and COVID-19. We are still currently planning to have the NYSML Spring Championships at Ithaca High School on March 28.
If any of our member leagues has a concern about COVID-19 that would prevent them from travelling to Ithaca, the league President or team Head Coach should contact us to make arrangements to administer NYSML2020 remotely on March 28. Please send your request to both NYSML President George Reuter (coachreu@gmail.com) and NYSML Executive Director Michael Curry (currymath@gmail.com).
Because we will need to give caterers final counts soon, we will need leagues with Novel Coronavirus concerns to make their requests for remote administration on or before Thursday, March 19. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates by email and through our website.
Sincerely,
George Reuter

Members of NYSML,
It is with great joy that I look forward to seeing you in just a few short weeks for NYSML2020 at Ithaca High School. Our website has been updated with information about hotels. You may also download the invoice and other important documents at www.nysml.com.
The following leagues must compete in Division A in 2020:
Monroe
Nassau
New York City
Westchester
All other leagues may choose to compete in Division A, but are also welcome to compete in Division B.
We have modified slightly how we wish to recognize winning teams and leagues beginning in 2020. We hope that these changes will continue to allow us to give meaningful recognition to teams that do well at NYSML.
NYSML will recognize the top three leagues (as sorted by the top team in each league) in Division A and the top two leagues in Division B. When a winning team is recognized, each member of that team will win a prize (historically, this has been a t-shirt). The new recognition will be that every student who came with that league will win a NYSML coin. These coins will be different from year to year, allowing students to win the coin more than once during their high school careers without winning the same prize twice.
For example, if the standings end up as they did in 2017…
NYC Tin Man 235
Westchester A 202
Monroe A 198
NYC Scarecrow 192
And so on…
Then Tin Man, Westchester A, and Monroe A members all get t-shirts, and every student that came with those leagues win a NYSML coin.
In the days leading to NYSML2020, if I can be of service to you, please contact me. It will be so good to see you all again.
Regards,
George Reuter
President, NYSML
